Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Habitly ("the app", "we") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information
we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
1. Information we collect
Data you provide
- Account: if you create an account, we store your email address to authenticate you (Firebase Authentication).
- Habits: the habits you add, their completion history and settings are synced to the cloud (Firestore) only if you're logged in.
Data collected automatically
- Crash reports: we use Firebase Crashlytics to detect crashes and errors. This may include device information (model, OS version) and the error's stack trace. It does not include personally identifiable data.
- Usage data: we use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used — for example, when a habit is created or completed, or when a subscription starts. These events don't include your name, email, or the content of your habits, only in-app behavior data (e.g. chosen frequency, streak length).
- Local preferences: app settings (theme, language, reminders) are stored locally on the device with SharedPreferences and are never sent to external servers.
2. How we use the information
- Sync your habits across devices (only if you have an active account).
- Send you the reminder notifications you configured.
- Detect and fix technical issues in the app.
- Process in-app purchases through Google Play.
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for advertising purposes.
3. In-app purchases
Purchases are processed exclusively through Google Play. We do not store credit card data
or payment information. See
Google's privacy policy
for more details on payment processing.
4. Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from
Settings → Account → Delete account inside the app.
Local data is removed when you uninstall the app.
5. Security
Data in transit is protected with TLS. Access to Firestore is restricted by security rules
that prevent one user from accessing another user's data.
6. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If you're a parent and believe your child provided information, contact us to have it removed.
7. Changes to this policy
Any significant change will be notified inside the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this
document indicates when it was last revised.
